The Playing Rules of Baccarat

Baccarat starts with players placing bets as to which of the Banker hand or the Player hand will win. The hand in baccarat that gets a total sum nearest to Nine wins. Each hand in baccarat gets two to three playing cards.

The winning bets in baccarat are paid evenly, that is 1:1. But when the Banker wins, all those who bet on the banker will pay a 5% commission from their winnings. For example, if you have won $20 for the banker bet, you will only receive $19 because the 5% commission, which is $1, will be withheld from your winnings.

If both Banker and Player have the same total card value, the baccarat game is a tie. The players that bet on the Tie bet wins and they will be paid 8:1. But tie only happens once in every ten hands. When a tie occurs in baccarat, the bets on both Banker and Player are neither taken out nor paid.

Baccarat has specific set of rules that both banker and players must abide carefully. Both Banker and Player have their own set of playing rules in baccarat.

The Player hand is always the first to play with the following baccarat rules:

When the first two cards' value is Six, Seven, Eight, or Nine, the player always Stands. For any other hand value, the player is allowed to draw one more card. Baccarat rules specify that only one additional card is allowed and nothing more. After the additional card, the player Stands, no matter what is the value of the Player hand.

The Banker hand is a little bit complicated to play because of the following baccarat rules:

If the first two cards of the Player is Six or higher, and the player didn't draw an additional card, the Banker must draw an additional card if the first two cards is Five or less and in other situation, the banker Stands.

If the Player draws an additional card, the banker will play based on the following baccarat rules:

- If the first two cards' value is Three, the banker draws if the player's additional card is One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Nine, Ten. - If the first two cards' value is Four, the banker draws if the player's additional card is Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven. - If the first two cards' value is Five, the banker draws if the player's additional card is Four, Five, Six, Seven. - If the first two cards' value is Six, the banker draws if the player's additional card is Six, Seven.

Additional baccarat rules for the banker: If the first two cards' value is Two or less, the banker will always draw. If the first two cards' value is Seven, Eight, or Nine, the banker will always Stand.

Baccarat is a simple casino game with high stakes at hand. Following the baccarat rules will let you get more of the game's spirit and enjoy yourself.
